Touch

A sculpture dedicated to people being able to touch someone remotely from a few miles away to thousands of miles away. In an environment that uses robotic hands, narrow artificial intelligence, material that can simulate touch, and secure permissive data collection to build better robotic hands and arms for prosthetics. In progress since 2009 and completion once able to “bootstrap” cost.

Great Folks of Champaign County: Andy Detwiler’s Story

In 2022 I was received permission to write a book about Andy Detwiler. Andy lost both arms in a farming accident at 2 and 1/2 years of age. His story is one of a parents, brother and sister, a church family, and a community engaged and facilitating success. His YouTube channel the Harmless Farmer garnered millions of views and a loyal audience until his untimely passing.

We have sold 867 books. Would like to sell more to help develop the robotic arm.

Toxicity

Evil exist in the human condition and was and is manifested in humans the likes of Mao, Xi, Putin, Hitler, Stalin, and many more. This sculpture is a layered on the concept of human trash. The egregious evil represented by the above dictators placed in a giant trash bag and their bigger than life bodies bones constructed from wood and their flesh Paper Mache. The whole bag surrounded by guard towers, chain link fence, search lights, and guards. Entering the bag each person receives a utility knife to carve off a portion of the flesh that easily separates and has the story of a person who resisted these dictators. The take away is placed in a display box signed and dated by the viewer. Once the flesh is gone, the wood bones remain to be videoed in time elapsed fashion to represent the rot of their evil existence.

Robotic Hand and Arm

For the last four years a unique approach to developing a completely human like robotic arm. The features are very low power consumption, touch transmission via neural paths or haptic grid interface, new concept in servo motors able to store energy mechanically, sturdy and able to withstand human level of stress, interchangeable parts, custom sized for each use, anticipatory movement to match human expression, and anthropomorphic qualities.

Commission Work

For 48 years I have been completing commissions at the behest of customers. Customer satisfaction with the final piece is based on rigorous agreement and buy in from the customer. From portraits of animals and people, to machines either technical illustrations or explodes and cut-away or even illustrated parts breakdowns and insist on attempting perfection and complete customer satisfaction.

Program Management

From 1991 until 2022 I managed complex Information Technology/Information System programs working at every level of the OSI model. Becoming expert in networking, moving vast enterprise systems in upgrades change environments, new backend applications and hardware, or from datacenter to cloud leading disparate teams across the globe to accomplish extraordinary results.
