April 13, 2026, Urbana, Ohio, USA. The results of the City of Urbana Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) meeting regarding a proposed data center site plan in April 2026.  The Urbana BZA unanimously denied an appeal from Thor Equities LLC, Urbana Investment Group LLC, and Highland Real Estate, accepted the city’s determination that a proposed data center site plan application was incomplete. This decision prevented the immediate advancement of a proposed data center project in the city.
The decision is part of an ongoing controversial debate by residents and outside parties leading the anti-data center crusade, Thor Equities and residents who need more information whether a data center build at the south end of the city. #greatfolksandgoodstories #datacenter #development

The next step will be for Thor Equities to file an appeal in Champaign County Common Pleas Court.
